Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella is a strategic area, between the city of Verona and Lake Garda: the vineyards run along the hills, and to honour the most prestigious local product, Amarone DOCG wine.

In addition to its excellent wines, Sant'Ambrogio is also known for its precious marble, with its unique colour and structure.

In fact, stone has been quarried here since the first half of the 13th century: the Lombard masters who had moved to Valpolicella to research and purchase local stone built a small church dedicated to their patron saint, Sant'Ambrogio, around which the village that still bears his name was built.

The entire area is characterised by typical historical villages, such as Gargagnago (known as the Borgo dell'Amarone), Monte and Ponton.
