GOLDEN FLICORN

The International Band Competition "Flicorno d'Oro" returns to Riva del Garda from 22nd to 24th March, a 24th edition that registers a record number of participants - as many as 59 bands from Italy, the Czech Republic, Germany, Latvia, Croatia, Spain, Austria and Switzerland.

Openness to international musical culture has always been a hallmark of the Golden Flugelhorn: interaction with artistic expressions and creative exchange have made it one of the most musically recognised events in Europe. The main actors will be the music and the participating ensembles, but also the prestigious international jury and the choice of repertoire that will make up the compulsory list.

It is currently considered one of the most important in Europe, the second after the World Music Contest (WMC) in Kerkrade (Netherlands). Many bands are returning, an indication of the quality of the contest and the excellent organisation entrusted to the Flicorno d'Oro Association, chaired by Tiziano Tarolli, in collaboration with the Corpo Bandistico di Riva del Garda and the Federation of Band Bodies of the Province of Trento.

The competition will officially open with rehearsals starting on the afternoon of Friday 22 March and will end on Sunday 24 March. The winners will be announced at 10.30 p.m. All rehearsals will take place at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Riva del Garda.
