WHAT TO DO IN FERRAGOSTO ON GARDA LAKE?

15th AUGUST

Ferragosto is the most awaited holiday in August and celebrates the Assumption of Mary. In Italy, the day of Ferragosto is traditionally dedicated to out-of-town trips and is often characterised by rich packed lunches or in restaurants (barbecues with family or friends are typical) and, given the seasonal heat, also by refreshing swims in the pleasant, crystal-clear lake waters.

Like every year, the traditional appointment with the Garda Lake fireworks is unfailing. As is customary, they colour and enliven the lakeside villages that are reflected in the lake's waters, followed by toasts, music and popular festivities.

On Ferragosto night in the squares and historic centres, all the bars and restaurants are open and food and wine venues are set up where it is impossible not to be tempted by local delicacies and a good glass of wine.

Young people are advised to spend the evening in one of the discos or summer locations around the lake that organise exclusive parties or theme parties on the occasion of Ferragosto, where good music and fun are guaranteed until dawn.
