Amarone della Valpolicella, today regarded as the most prized of Veronese wines and as one of the most important Italian reds, appreciated by the most discerning consumers all over the world, was born from the evolution of Recioto, one of the oldest wines in our wine-growing history.
It is a wine with a deep red colour tending to garnet with age.
The bouquet is reminiscent of dried fruit, tobacco and spices, also thanks to the noble moulds created during the drying process. The flavour is of great intensity with evident notes of dried fruit, dry but very soft; it has a strong personality and can be kept for more than twenty years.
It goes perfectly with red meat dishes, game, mature and flavoursome cheeses.
